The Method
1. Pick a Passage A good criteria is simply "This is something I never want to forget." Break down the passage into a concrete number of components (ex: 5 Effects of Baptism). These components will be "pegged" to items in a room.
2. Pick a Place This is a location in the house. (ex: 5 Effects of Baptism --- In the Bathroom)
3. Pick the Pegs These are items in the room that are "pegged" to parts of the passage. It works best when these flow in a clockwise direction around the room. (ex: Toilet, Bathtub, Towel Rack, etc)
4. Paint a Picture This is the fun part! Take your time and make it an art. Imagine an image on each peg that corresponds to each part of the passage. Use over-the-top images that really stick. Use Color, Movement, Exaggerated Features. (ex: 1st Effect of Baptism --- Forgiveness of Sins --- Four containers of cinnamon being poured into the Toilet)
5. Practice / Pray / Pass it On Walk through the Memory Palace often, and it will remain well-kept. Pray with it. Use it to spread the Gospel. Remember that "knowledge puffs up, but love builds up." 1 Cor 8:1
"Let not loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them about your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." Proverbs 3:3
